Houston Arboretum Event 1/10/15

Recommended Posts

Just drove by the Arboretum and noticed Geocaching on their sign.

http://houstonarboretum.org/events/geocaching-01-10-15/

Looks like a $20 (for members) or $35 (for non-members) two hour intro for kids to caching.

Anyone ever been? Wonder if they would like help?

Organizer/instructor is Tiffany McElweenie. I certainly don't profess to know all area cachers by name in our area but don't know Tiffany.

That seems a bit high for an intro course, especially since there are volunteers in our community that have and will do them for free.

I believe part of why they have classes is to fund the Arboretum.

I've taken powerdog02 for other classes at the arboretum for scouts.  their family classes like the geocaching one are to raise funds for the center itself, so for two people, it's a good fundraiser.

Hello! We just joined the Houston GeoCaching Society today and I saw your thread about our upcoming GeoCaching class. We are excited to teach families and children about GeoCaching while getting them in the outdoors discovering new things.

Come by and meet Tiffany, our instructor! She is one of the Arboretum's naturalists, teachers, and local geocacher :)
