LOOK WHOSE BACK IN TOWN

None other than GEOWYZ.  Picked up couple of my caches two day ago and one of KIRBYDOX's.  If we had known about him being in town, we could have put up some type of event for him.  He probably got lost with so many changes in the local scenes.  Been five years.

I corresponded with John by email last week about D.B. Cooper Jr.  I know he'd been finding caches in Australia and Vietnam in the last couple of months.  Home for the holidays I wonder?

John is a great guy and very talkative on a one on one basis and through email but he has never been one to draw attention to himself. I really miss his caches as well as the ones from Mr. Dreamcacher (Wayne) and Ruth Ann. Interesting that they are both geophysicists. I also miss WIldcatBud and CaptJ. I learned alot about nativigation on the water from CaptJ. Also missing CacheAbels. Lettie was always funny about getting a FTF and leaving a second place ribbon in the cache.

Whatever happened to Neuman?   I never met the fellow but he was a Houston geocaching pioneer and an inspiration.  His Houston History Tour #1 remains one of my favorites and showed me that caches don't have to me merely coordinates to Tupperware in the woods.

I bought some Texas geocoins from him. I still have one of his Texas songs CD's version II that I traded for in your 23-SUR cache. I did some research awhile back and was able to get some info on his whereabouts.

Here's a very old link discussing a licensing issue back in 2001

He did login in Nov of 2013

He still has an active cache way out in West Texas

John, if you're hanging around town a few more days, come to the event at the Flying Saucer downtown on Tuesday for lunch!  http://coord.info/GC4TYKZ

(Now if I can just get P+ to change the "WHOSE" in the title of this thread to "WHO'S"...) :coolsmiley:

You should do the Necropolis cache while you are there.
