Manofsteel73 Countdown to 1000 FTFs

I believe most would consider 1,000 finds a pretty significant achievement in Geocaching circles.

Well, how about 1,000 First to Finds or FTF's?  I'm guessing this is a fairly rare achievement anywhere, especially in a competitive and cacher rich area like NW Houston. Our own Manofsteel73, Terry, is getting close enough to 1K FTF's that I thought a countdown would be in order. So, here's the countdown. Good luck Terry.

Current count as of 07/25/2013 is 930. Only 70 more to go !

If TexasWriter doesn't catch him first!

Going after 3 in the mountains of Colorado in the morning. Grabbed one in Sealy on the way out of town last Monday that was published 3-1/2 months ago and was unfound, then grabbed two in San Antonio. Had to do something since PR was apparently waiting for me to leave town so he could dump all the caches he's been sitting on....some of them for weeks.

Oh well, we're having a blast. Letting earth caches, virtuals, and letterboxes guide us all the way up. Seen some awesome stuff, had a ton of laughs, hiked our butts off a couple times already, and picked up some new state souvies. Woo hoo. And, yes, I have notifications set up the whole way.... O0

If TexasWriter doesn't catch him first!

According to MOS's Commemorative Cache (http://coord.info/GC39FXC), he already had over 831 FTF's four months before I even started caching, so making the 1,000 FTF's mark a foot race would be odds anyone would be happy to take if betting MOS would get there first. I might even put my money on him, too. Hmmm.... Nah, I'll leave my money where it is. :coolsmiley:

I think he was FTF on the entire Texas series and did it in one day.

Not the entire series.  A crew went out the night they published and did the S in the dark.

@TexasWriter:  On my hat is a trackable pin the ManofSteel73 gave me.  I use it as a talisman.  It doesn't always work, but a good deal of time, I think it does.  I don't have a TexasWriter trackable pin on my hat and I fricken need one bad...

Bert, I'm sorry but I can't publicly engage in bribery and collusion for votes.  Write down your price on a piece of paper, leave it under a lamp post skirt somewhere, and send me the coordinates. We can probably work something out. :notme:

MOS = 941 FTFs as of  8/11/2013

59 to go

It is interesting to report that Texas Writer is now at 708 FTFs, and closing fast towards his FTF comma club membership.

Are there any others out there among us nearing 1K FTFs?

We're not even close @ 436.   TW surpassed that mark in his first year of caching.

TW scored a FTF in Baytown last night close to midnight.

TW has got to have a huge gasoline bill (unless he's using his Superman powers and flying).
