How do I put an image in a post...

I know I've asked this before, but I can't find my previous post:

How do I put a nice Image from my computer into a post on here?  All I can find to do is post a URL from somewhere else, or I get the attachment thumbnails.  How do I get it into the body of the post?  I'm trying to post a screen shot.  The My media button only shows my what I've uploaded, but puts a tiny thumbnail in the post.

Upload you photo to a free photosharing account like photobucket then copy and paste the url.

I know what you're talking about.  I've been able to upload pics to HGCS before and have them show full-sized in the post, but can't figure out how now.  I ususally just upload them to one of my archived caches and use that as my "photo sharing site".

I used photobucket.  Post is up now.  I know I didn't have to do that before.

If I can still upload my image, why can't I embed it into my post?  I can understand if TFP doesn't want to host a bunch of photos and videos, but apparently I can still upload them.

Is there a certain size, above which it's auto thumb nailed?

It's gotten wonky on me too. Now a two step process from my tapatalk.

Maybe Jason can weigh in if anything has changed and what he prefers in terms of hosting images or not.

You can insert images linked elsewhere from the web using image icon in the tool bar. You'll need the URL to that image.

You may also attach images to your post which can be uploaded from your computer.

If you see the " More Reply Options " button when composing your message. Click it.

Then down below under Attach files Click "Choose File" then "Attach This File".

Once your file (image) has been uploaded you'll then have the option to "Add to Post"

Add to Post will insert some BBCODE to the attachment. You can move that around anywhere in your message where you would like it displayed.

You can add multiple files and add them to your message.

Not adding the file to the post will simply include the file at the bottom of you message as a thumbnail.

Clicking on the thumbnail will open it in the viewer.

But... How do you get the picture full size and not simply a thumbnail?

I can only get a thumbnail to show. Kenny did something else, which made the image larger. (Critters thread)

I even tried reducing the image size, just in case that was the issue.

Thanks BB. I understand if you click on the thumbnail that the size will increase. I want to image to post larger than a thumbnail. THIS is what I can't seem to figure out.  I know I asked this ?? a year ago, but can't seem to remember how the heck to do it.  (everyone helped me last time. I promise to save a note this time or post photo's more regularly)

Upload to to Photobucket and post the URL.

I do the same with gc.com - on an archived cache.

I disabled the thumbnails.

Thanks!  Now I have to go back and edit my post above where I complained about it being itty bitty...

Those snakes were pretty small ....  but they're still venomous and can cause a world of hurt!    :(

I posted a photo of a copperhead in the "Critters" thread, but after posting I only have 29KB left of the 500 at the beginning so I can't post additional photos. Anything I'm doing wrong??
