Well to go along with yours I submitted a CITO last night on the 20th in The Woodlands.  Looks like I know what my son and I are doing on the 21st with my new two man Kayak.

So when is alligator mating season?  Is it right in the middle of the CITO?

Darn, what did I miss?  :-\

All I can say is as long as the alligators are mating and not eating humans, I am ok.   :D

Robert's wanting to attend this CITO even though being in the water with the gators makes me nervous. Guess we'll have to get our sit on top tandem out and make sure it still floats.  :blackeye:

If you are planning to attend this event and are in the market for a boat, you might want to check out AKC's in the water boat demo days on April 13th and 14th. They say they will have 80 or more kayaks, paddle boards available to try at no cost or obligation. April 13th is in Missouri City at Independence Park (on Court Road) from 10 till 4. April 14th is in Elizabeth Kaiser Meyer Park (near Stubner Airline and Cypresswood) from 10 to 4. If you have any interest visit their web site at AKC.com. This is a good chance to try out a lot of different kayaks and be ready for the event.

I have reserved one kayak from Pinky for another kayaker.  If anyone needs a kayak, please contact him, he stated I was the first to contact him.  Tell him you are with the Geocaching Group launching off from Spring Gully.  His number is 713-510-7968.  I gave him the time that we are going to launch, which is 9:00am, but he needs to be there at 8:30am.

Kevin, I will bringing Salty, my kayak, and was wondering if I can leave my car at the launch area or will we be leaving kayaks in one area and cars in another.

We're launching from Bay Area Park.  Pull-out will be at Spring Gulley.

Heck, if the north wind doesn't change soon we'll be heading out to the Alphabet Series and original series.  Water has been low.  Was good this weekend, but we need a change in the seemingly constant north wind.

As it gets closer, I'll try to work out shuttle services.  If anyone has a pickup and wants to drop their yak off at Bay Area Park and then go park at Big Island Slough parking --- it's a quick walk to the car to fetch some people back to Bay Area Park.  That would be GREAT!

I need Claps 6 & 7 and the IV series.  I might just head that way.

So -- the good news.  The incessant North wind seems to have stopped.  I was at softball practice with FunSize on Friday night and it was the most beautiful kayaking weather I've seen in ages.  Smooth as glass and the crescent moon lit everything up very nicely.  No wind.

Hopefully the 21st will be just as nice, but daylight.  ;)

As many of you are aware, much of the CLAPS series will be coming down soon, and a new and improved CLAPS V2 will soon appear. CLAPS III and II will come down first. The EarthCache will NOT be taken down. So if you are missing that one, it will still be there for you.

With that in mind, my plan is to do CLAPS III, as planned. But I know several folks who are looking to do CLAPS IV.  I contacted Crankset Cacher about his series (IV) and he seems to have done some maintenance on it or will soon have done so, knowing that some of you want to go that way.  So those should all be in good order for you.

So I'm thinking Bert and Patty can lead whoever wants to go that way, and I'll take a group up III.

Bert / Patty -- does this work?

Reminder:  If you are renting from Pinky's, now is the time to get your reservation in and/or reconfirm.

Please post here if you are renting so we know who to expect.

For Pinky's -- the key is this:

If you are doing III:  Put-in at Bay Area Park.  Pull out at Spring Gulley.

If you are doing IV and looping back, put-in and pull-out are both Bay Area Park.

I am good to lead, cause I always find everything and never get lost - or point in the wrong direction and send everyone on a wild goose chase.
