I won, I won!!

I submitted a story about the coin I named after my sister-in-law when she was deployed to Iraq with the goal of getting to Iraq. It actually made it there during her deployment and was delivered to her at her clinic at Balad air base by a soldier/cacher named SmartSapper. You can read it by clicking on the link Log Dawgs posted above, if you like.

Anyway, today I got an email from Groundspeak saying that I was among the top 3 posts and they're sending me a geocoin!

Wow HC I did as well. What are the odds two from Houston would win. I was going to email you and let you know I heard from them. Glad to know there was more than one winner!!!!

HC - is there a link to your trackable that we can see the route it took? That would be pretty neat to see.

Nobody likes a braggart. I was going to honor you proud, but no, you had to go toot your own horn.

So, I'd like to honor the Honorable Mention. Great job HC! :fist-pump:

I was honoring HC! Come on now.

Hey, I got honorable mention for my own trackable and my name is on the FTF Trophy in two places, so it's a win-win!. 8)

So, i got to thinking. They honored a trackable who's purpose is to promote seed caches which are against guidelines? i mean it is kinda like releasing promotional trackables, while prohibiting caches that mention business names. There are always two faces to GC.

The thought about the cache-generation aspect of the FTF trophy also crossed my mind. I just figured that the Latitude 47 blog writer/trackable story winner picker must sit in a different cubicle than the geocache guidelines expert.

Don't you like the hypocrisy that is GC.com. PS saw the FTF trophy cache just published.

Reviving an old thread:

Funny that the FTF Trophy won the Geocaching Blog contest two years ago and now PR our local reviewer won't even let you mention it's existence in a cache page or put the letters FTFC in a cache title.

That is why I gave up placing a cache as he is too fickle.
