Geocaching MB Pamphlet and badge finally released

Recommended Posts

But don't get to excited.  According to the Cracker Barrel blog:

Production on the badge and pamphlet will begin soon, and you should expect to see both at your local Scout Shops by the end of December.

I wish the badge had the geocaching symbol on it... Oh well.  It's nice anyway:

The MB pamphlet is finally available.  Picked one up at the Stafford Scout Shop today.  Read the first few pages and thumbed the rest.. I think they did a pretty good job on this.

Patch is also out and the advancement system has been updated and is ready.

Troopmaster Update 4.03c gets you the Geocaching MB in Troopmaster.

The worksheet on meritbadge.org still says it's not earn-able yet, but I made updates and sent the doc to Craig to post.

Wish they had a belt loop for the cubs.

I definitely agree. Even though there's not a belt-loop associated with it, I gave my son's Den a lesson in it, and we had them find a couple caches during last years fall campout. They had a blast. I'm sure this will be one of my son's earlier badges as a Boy Scout (currently a Webelos)
