District Rollcall

Hey folks,

Lets get a feel for who is where in the Sam Houston Council by giving a shout out that indicates what district you are in.  I'm not sure exactly what the equivalent terms are for Girl Scouts, but lets cover both... might want to include which organization.

I'll start...

Traveling Geek    BSA    Thunderwolf District (old Tomahawk South)

I live in the Eagle Trail district area, but have not been active in scouting since before I moved to Texas from Tennessee when I got my eagle scout.

Muddy Buddies -  I'm no longer active on a local level.  I only volunteer at the Council level (Girl Scouts at San Jacinto Council).  Our kids are grown, but I still do Council training and work on the Product Sales Operations Team.

Our district was recently split, but I am excited about the newly formed North Star District.  I am an eagle, as is my oldest son.  I have a second son who is an eagle as well, but we are still waiting for the paperwork to come back from the national office so we can set his Eagle Court of Honor.

First Post...But were from the Raven District Pack/Troop 208. (Baytown)  I'm a Webelos Den leader and an asst scoutmaster with the pack, but I'm more involved with Webelos.  One of my sons is in Webelos and the other started the boyscouts in the spring.  Were going to camp Bovay Wednesday and I'm hoping to do some caching along the way, but I've heard that we may be doing a convoy so probably not :(

Latitude,  If you don't get to cache on the way to Bovay, there is one cache at the entrance to Bovay that is part of the SHAC centennial series.  There is another about a mile out from the  camp that has been there for a while called On the Way to Bovay if I remember correctly.  At least you can get two finds.

Thanks,  I checked them out and will plan on going for those two caches.  I don't travel much so if I find those they will be the furthest caches to the west we have found!

Welcome to the site, buffalodonna and Latitude Attitude!

There is a lot of caching to be done on the way to Bovay.

Humm... isn't it contrary to cub scout or BSA policy to caravan?  Something about it being unsafe due to the need to "make the light" or "maintain speed".  Anyway, that's always been my excuse.

I head out first (or try to) and show up last due to stops along the way.

Well we  found the two Bovay caches during some free time.  I was able to drop off a Geocoin that another scouting family picked up.  Thanks for the idea.  Our trailer had a problem with the lights so I did end up following the trailer there and back.  :(  When we stopped once to eat I did do I quick search for caches on my iPhone I guess a mile away is a little to far  :-\

Thanks again for the recommendation TG.
