"LH 3 - - Travis Park GCGATW - was last found on 10/16/09 by Freeze Clan and The Texas Freeze Clan with one DNF since."

Since I adopted this cache from motexoutlaw AND it is coming up on two years since the last find... I dropped by to check on waypoint 1 and the final cache.  Both are good to go.  The cache is right where I left it.

HoustonControl keep it on the list but I am hoping that it gets found soon.

The banter that went on between those old guys is surely missed. I really enjoyed reading them when I first started caching.

I was planning on adopting FTFC #17 - A Year Of Community in SETX along with Red Eye Rebels other caches, but he archived it.  He went ahead and gave me the coordinates to the other waypoints.  My brother in law went and found the green lock n lock container with the log then the large final which was empty.  We logged it as find since we pulled the containers and the cache is now archived.  So it can be removed from the list and now forgotten.  I will reuse the container and log book.

Other changes since the last update

Barrel of Monkeys 1 GC1G059 was temporarily disabled by PR.

Walkin' the Dog GC1PZAZ was archived by the owner.

Before / After "The Bend" GC1RH0A was temporarily disabled by the owner.

Lady Necks GC1RH08 was temporarily disabled by the owner.

HARRISBURG HIKE & BIKE TRAIL No 5 GC1AKEE was archived by the owner.

HARRISBURG HIKE & BIKE TRAIL No 4 GC1AKEB was archived by the owner.

I found some caches that somehow didn't make it on the list in the last couple of months. I've also had an issue with caches that were temporarily disabled then later re-enabled not getting on the list (I filter out caches that are disabled and wasn't doing a good job of checking to see if they were back in business). This shouldn't happen in the future. That said, the list is filling up once again with missing caches by absentee owners that need to be replaced or archived, and is starting to get unmanageable. I'll be posting a poll on another thread to determine what HGCS members would like to see from this effort going forward.

Be sure to check out the Bookmarked List of these caches.

Rosenberg...Creepy Critters #1 GC1T604 - was last found on 10/18/09 by Buckeye 5 with six DNF's since.

Nothing good to report.  I found one of this series, but almost certain this one is gone.  Asking CO to check.  If that doesn't happen, and I don't expect it will, move it toward archiving.

For what its worth,

Sounds by the Lake is very close to me, I can check for it, but its most likely gone.  Ducks roost there, and the lawn maint crew regularly clears things out.

Forget Lewis & Clark, the last "found" was that they found the hook, but not the container.  Given the difficulty of this one, I think its a goner.

I have a coord for LHTHiker (maybe right who knows?!?), but haven't chased it yet, because it is a considerable hike and its been so hot.  This will most likely bubble up on my priority list.

For the 7-in-7 caches, Teamterz has had several family issues (new baby, and relative sick) that's been occupying his time.  Don't know what his plans are as I don't seem him at FTF chases as much as I  used to.

Chopped is on my short list to do.

DoeLoe took me 5 trips to find,  The cammo blends in really well.  If the area hasn't been cleared, its most likely still there.

Weshollow embarrassingly took me several trips.  At least one it was really gone, then replaced.  Workers in the area lunch near GZ so it may be possible muggled.

(All of this without looking for the actual caches...)

I went by decimal degrees this weekend.  Pretty sure it is not there.  There are just not that many places to hide a small sized cache.

The CO archived that cache the same day.  He said it blew away during Ike.  Wait, wasn't that 3 years ago?  :o

Off the Beaten Trail GC1E145 - was last found on 9/1/09 by Frog Pad (the CO) with two DNF's since.

Was on the list in August but dropped off with no explanation in September.  No big deal, because I'm pretty sure it's not there.  It's now been temporarily disabled by Prime Reviewer.

Someone called Jaded Houston posted a find on the cache, back-dated 6/1/10, meaning it is now only been 15 months since it was found.  Not sure if it's legitimate -- maybe they accidentally logged a find on the wrong cache.  Anyway, it didn't seem worth a celebratory mention at the bottom of the post.  (Off the Beaten Trail GC1E145 was found on June 20th of last year by Jaded Houston, uh, 9 months since it was last found.  Way to go!)

HC, was playing with prime membership features and thinking I might have found a process that could be easier for you.  Rather than loading 5000 caches in GSAK, the GC.com website has the ability to sort by last find.  If you set your search to downtown (or where ever you normally search from) and sort the by last find youngest to oldest, you could then just download the list to a GPX (OK a couple of GPX).  Then you could upload those GPX into GSAK and use it to run comparisons, or filter out inactive, or whatever.  Just a thought.

I don't.  And I understand that what I am proposing is merely a theory.  HC had just proposed the possibility of have to cut the list down to 2 years because the number of caches was more than he could pocket query in a single day.  I was trying to trouble shoot a way around his proposed problem.

I can't really hijack this thread. I do have boundaries, but Mr. Eagle you should check out GSAK. You can download a free trial version.
