Bert,  Bob’s colleagues at work just received news of his death this morning. No other information at this time.

I have no further information at this time and this is so fricken sad it brings tears to my eyes.  I have meant to call Bob so many times lately and with all the troubles my own family has been subjected to, I've failed a friend.

I noticed he hadn't been on here lately and I saw a couple of days ago that he hadn't logged into GC.com since June 1, but figured he was doing other things.  This is so sad.  Bob was a witty fellow and a truly nice guy.  He will be missed.

He liked blacks BBQ. We are going to San Antonio this weekend. Will stop by there and have a sandwich and brew in his honor. We used to discuss our BBQ likes and dislikes. Really nice guy.

my prayers to his family.  I saw him a few months ago at lunch one day and talked for a while.  I had hoped to see him out and about more.

281-782-2765  Call Bob and leave a message for the family.  You will get to hear his voice one more time.  :disappoint:

I am so sad. Bob was one of the first cachers I ever had contact with. When I first started caching, I DNF'd one of his caches (I think I had 30-40 finds at the time) and he emailed me a HUGE hint. The next day, I went out and found the cache (I think it was Tighty-Whitey).....

Everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him will miss his smiling face.

Rest in peace, buddy. Seabrook's not going to be the same without you.

That's just sad. Don't think I've ever met a nicer guy.

This is a huge loss.  He was a great guy.  Like JuleeD, he was one of the first to help me with a hint on a cache.  Always there to help, plan, BS, and laugh with you.  He'd always get you to smile no matter how bad a day it was.  He always helped on CLAPS events shuttling people -- and finally got to go paddling himself and enjoy the pleasures of kayaking.  And I'm so glad he did as it was something he truly enjoyed, and even got to share with others.  I will miss his constant harassment about paddling events in the cold of winter (and he was always there with hot chocolate for the nuts who participated) and the lunacy of the annual nighttime events (where he alway saw us off -- as well as nearly every other daytime event).  I'll miss his regular injections of sharp wit, too.

RIP, Bob.

I hadn't talked to him since we left for vacation, and was wondering about him this morning.  I was planning on giving a call, but am now kicking myself for not calling him earlier.

Hmmmm, Seems like a Fall event (once things calm down a bit and cooler weather prevails ) at Blacks BBQ in Lockhart would be fitting. Something along the line of "BBQBOB2 Pearly Gates Takeout".

Just thinking out loud.

Wow this brings tears to my eyes.

Last Wednesday I invited him to my Tutti Fruiti event & I was really hoping to see him 'cause it had been so long...

He is such a great guy & I always think of him when I drive near the Taylor Lake Village area.

Please keep us updated...

Bob was a really neat guy. I will never forget him coming to events with his cute, little granddaughter, Emily. RIP Bob.

And don't forget the Quidditch event he hosted.  He was truly a great guy and I always enjoyed his harassing at the launch of the few kayaking events I attended.

It's been so long since we've seen just about anyone on the southeast side of town due to most of the events being during the week and it just being too far to make them.  Bob will be missed.  Like Heftydude, I think about the Quidditch event he hosted.   That was definitely a unique one.

I was really shocked and saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Always a fun guy to be around. I always enjoyed his meet and greet event in the parking lot of the Stafford center for the Hot Sauce Festival. I'm thinking about posting a meet and greet there Sep. 20 in his memory.
