I have one double 'yak reserved... either to share with my wonderful wife (who graciously puts up with all my caching non-sense) or someone else if we can work it out!

Maybe you can rent a double too and you can go with Cindy & I'll take Ian along for the ride!

cjenogan wanted to kayak before he bought one and we were going to rent a tandem together (he'd be the two good-armed one in the yak) if I found someone for PD02.  although, I still haven't asked PD02 if he wants to...  canNOT show him the gator pics first.

Only if he goes turtle when he sees a gator and out swims it to shore.

Just Google mapped the logistics and amazingly it's nearly the same distance and time from home (Richmond/Cinco Ranch) to Armand Bayou as it is from Pt. Arthur. Not sure how that can be but happy to think I can make the event!

but only after he passes the BSA swim test and has the swimming merit badge in progress/complete...

he's going to be one stinky kid come sunday after primitive camping with no showers for 3 days.  his favorite way to camp.

Primitive camping Bedrock's

Been there, done that. Best idea is to hose him down in the driveway to start cutting the wood smoke smell. Come to think of it, the hose-em down in the driveway thing pretty much works anytime they leave the house from 6th grade to freshman year at college. That and "rub dirt on it"will get you through most of the parenting/health/cleanliness issues you'll see. Parenting for Dummies, pages 14-26

Reminder to get your reservations in if you're renting.  Pinkys has been doing great business on nice days.  Don't miss out.

My great nephew Emmit decided my yak was the perfect place to store his rubber snake.
I didn't realise until I started prepping the yak for this event.
Bet he still laughing at the way I.jumped :)

More like .45 caliber holes....I had walked out to the shop behind the house to clean the yak and my duty pistol.

Good thing it wasnt loaded >:D

If you don't mind winds out of the SSE at 20-30 mph.

Wind or no, rain or shine;

a day in the Yak will be devine!

Pause, I will, for t-storms and lightning;

Far too dangerous, and frightening!

Nasty will pass, so we can pick up trash;

Twixt the gators, while grabbing a cache!
