Come one, come all, let's make this the biggest WWFM the Houston Area has ever seen.  I'd like to see if we could break 100 people at this years WWFM event.  What do you say, let's show 'em how it's done.

Details.

Where: Hermann Park (Museum District of Houston), by Sam Houston Statue

When: June 7th, 2014 from 12:00 - 12:15 (and maybe a little longer)

Why: Have fun and show that Geocaching Spirt plus maybe win a prize.

More details are in the posting.  It's been submitted but not reviewed as of yet.  Here's the link http://coord.info/GC4X25G

I hope to see you all there.

It wont be published for some time as PR wont submit an event 90 days prior.  I was thinking of hosting another one on the north year again as I have the past two years.  We had 125 at the event 2 years ago at the Sam statue in Huntsville.

Question is would the northside like for me to host another one this year or lets all make this one a big one?

I wasn't sure when PR does his reviews of these, but I wanted to get it in early.  Last year I believe we had 3 decent sized events, maybe more (Woodlands, Sugar  Land and Downtown.)

I put this downtown and early in hopes that we might be able to all (most) of us come together like we did 2yrs ago at another Statue of Sam Houston ;-)

I'm willing to share hosting responsibilities as well if we can make this a bigger better WWFM.

BTW, can you see the proposed listing based on the URL?  I wasn't sure if only I could see it w/ my log-in since I'm the submitter.

I have no issues at all with you hosting this alone and I attend.  Less work for me is always a plus.  I was just asking since some dont or cant travel that far.

Tealcat and I are more likely to be able to make one somewhere on the north side of town rather than driving all the way into Houston.  Having said that, I think we are the farthest north of those who post to this group.

We can always have it at SAM again so we can call it WWFM the Dueling SAMS?  Far enough away that neither will interfere with each other as well.

And for the one by Big Sam, there are lots of caches available along the Lone Star Hiking Trail.

{Note to self--remember to do maintenance on FD and MD series before June 7.}

Oh, I don't mind helping out/sharing!

I live VERY close to that park and will ride my bike over to attend / help hosting..... that is, once I buy a new bike :(

Bert, honestly I haven't gotten around to posting yet.... too busy at work.

Did buy my wife a new bike for her Birthday though!

The event has been published.

I've ordered a couple WWFM XI Geocoins today.  One for myself and one as a giveaway prize for the Event.

I also plan on giving out pathtags, one per caching group.  This is coming out of my own pocket here so that's all I'll be able to provide.

If others want to offer up some more prizes your more than welcome.

I've noted a cuttoff of May 7th, for signing up if you want the free pathtag.  I need to order them with enough time to get them (plus a little spare time.)

I have no idea how I missed this original post in January...

But, I think my favorite instruction is:

12:00 PM - Dash to Ground Zero! Look both ways before crossing the roundabout of course

Soooo...do we get to run?! Race?!

Actually, I am just amused at the title of this too.

Because since I joined at the tail end of June, WWFM XI looks more like a WWJD/Super Bowl title... ;D

Bump!

We are getting closer to the date, only 5 weeks to go.   Right now it only has 22 will attends.  I'm hoping to have a lot more show up for this one.  I've purchased 40 WWFM XI pathtags, plus I have a WWFM XI Geocoin that we'll have a drawing for.  I'll probably toss in a couple TB's tags as well.

If you're planning on attending and have logged a will attend, now's the time to do it.  Remind your caching friends.

See You All There.
