Those weather people are just guessing....I'll take granny Clampett and her weather beetle.

I agree. Them fancy city weather folk have a tough time predicting what's gonna happen tomorrow, much less what's coming up in 3 days.

Rainy weather will take away some of the enjoyment of the hike for sure so it wouldn't hurt to postpone if, come Friday, the forecast is still thunderstorms...

As it turns out, I'm going to have to bow out (not because of rain but because of a scheduling conflict).

Rain or shine I will be there for the flash mob.  If it looks like severe thunderstorm, we can cancel.

PSA: Yeah, please don't proceed into woods if lightning is likely. Wet pines are an awesome path to ground and "close" does count if you're stand near a tree that gets struck. It will kill you. Thank you for your attention.

I've already been inside a house that was struck by lightening...along with 3 tall pines in the yard, the 3 story ham antenna in the back and the sycamore in the front.  I don't need to be an uncovered target.

Right now the forecast for Huntsville on Saturday is cloudy with a 20% chance of rain -- high of 76. Sounds pretty nice. Who all is still going?

I'm planning on it if the thunderstorms stay away enough.

As of now i'm still planning on going but i will take another look at the forecast tomorrow. I'd probably cancel on the hike if thunderstorms are looming but i'd still like to make the flashmob itself, if BB doesn't cancel it.

I will not cancel the flash mob.  I can cache my way home if the hike is off.

Down to a 10% chance of rain now. I just wanted to make sure a veteran (like Mudfrog) was going along to guide the group. It's easy to make wrong turns and get way off course if you haven't done this hike before.

My work route takes me close to four cache loop 5 days a week. Today it looked like a big fire that way. Cant tell if its a wild fire or a forest service burn.

May want to check on that

I'd love to go along but we have plans for the RenFest.  That is unless it is raining too heavily, in which case we'll skip the RenFest and.....

forecast as of 5:30pm... 20% chance of showers (no t-storms!) the entire time we should be there.  mid-60's for low and low 80's for high while we're out.

I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt.  Heck, I might just wear the t-shirt.
