OK, scouting out locations for this years Safe From The City New Year's Eve Event (in case you didn't know what SFTCNYE meant!).

Keely and I were talking at my last event and we like Lake Somerville Birch Creek Unit.... soooooo

Thinking about reserving the Group Trailer Area.

The GTA has:

Full dining hall for the use of up to 40 people with residential stove and fridge, table and chairs

Private (sorta) beach, not accessible along the beach but by water

14 Water Electric sites

6 water only sites

No Pets in dining hall

No alcohol (lol)

Fires only in the fire ring

All this for $200/night... total...

I think we can pair up a camper with a tent to double the amount of people we can accomodate.

What is everyone's thoughts on this? I want to get this event back to being a big hit like before.

Do you mean $200 for the entire Group Trailer Area?   That sounds cheap.

Yes it is cheap, for a group.  But if it is only going to be a couple of people - not so cheap for a night of camping.  In years past, we had groups big enough to make this space work for us, but the event has been getting smaller and smaller every year (in fact, 0 people attended this past year!)  How many people think they would be interested in this event this year?  If we could get the event back to what it was in the early years, it would totally be worth it.

We're interested.  It's a little early to commit but we like the idea.  We thought about it last year but this and that happened and well, you know.

So, what the heck, sounds like a great idea!

Who else in in?

Is it just me, or does any SP with the word "Creek" in it have a load of chiggers growing there?

There won't be any chiggers at this event. It will be too dang cold.

I find Stephen F. Austin SP boring.   The only thing it has going for it is proximity.
