Just in case this has slipped by...  Your FEET will get wet getting in and out of the kayak.  There is no way around it, so wear water shoes or sports sandals.  I wear shorts and sunscreen also.

I have a very stable tandem Ocean Kayak.  You will not tip over.  I have a personal flotation device for you too.  If you decide to carry any electronics in the kayak, seal them in a heavy duty one gallon freezer bag, or I can put it in my dry bag.

I'm sure that you will only get wet getting in or out of the kayak (unless it's raining) it depends where you get out as to how wet you will get!!!!

This whole area needs more dedicated kayak launch points.

I'm about 8 mintues away with stop signs. It sprinkled for a bit and now have large patches of blue sky.  Don't let a few scattered sprinkles scare you away.

Note to self:  The Weather Channel radar map will show large areas of green even if the drops are a mile apart... or it's evaporating before it hits the ground... or if the humidity is just kinda high.

I got to paddle with a wonderful person and we had one of those magic moments when we both realized we were living in the moment and that folks is something special.

I'm really sorry I missed this one guys, but I'd forgotten about our Houston-D.C.-Houston roadtrip when I posted my 'will attend' log.

We were still in Alabama at the time you guys hit the water.... ah well, better luck next time I guess!

On the other hand, I DID get to add 11 or 12 new souvenirs to my list  :coolsmiley:
