After fumbling with rolling up one more nano log, I checked the GC forums and found ideas for log rollers to make the job quick and easy. I made this little guy

for ~75 cents at Ace Hardware. I was very proud of my work, clipped it on my keychain so it would be handy and was amazed at how much it looks like.......a roach clip.

I had heard about these many years ago, not so sure I want one on the key ring I hand to the cachier at Kroger.

Or one more awkward thing to explain to the police when you wander out of the woods. On the plus side, it does work very well.

Rolling up nano logs.

Check out the hardware aisle at Ace, Home Depot, Lowes - its a brass cotter pin and a brass knurled nut with a dab of super glue.

You can also try Berings - I love that place.  It is a fun hardware store on the way to Home Depot from you on Bissonnet by the Michaels where you can drop Mrs. Dhaulagiri for craft supplies while you shop.

LOL  You are so right.  Never even crossed my mind it looked like a roach clip.  I think the last time I saw a roach clip was when I worked for the police department many, many years ago.

I just don't see how that would help to hold roaches? :knuppel2:

The difficulty is getting them to hold still long enough to get their legs in between the two pieces of the cotter pin.

Why go through all that trouble? You can just step on them and then toss them in the big bowl of water. But I'm told the cops don't like roaches in the water bowls either.

I'll keep one around just in case the cops start questioning me about Geocaching.
