you may also see armadillo's!

The moral of the story, take lots of water with you and keep your eyes open. You should try to hike with a buddy if you go into the forest at GBP or Bear Creek. I did the big smile solo as well as Noble Trail. While the trail was ok for a solo trip, the big smile is in the forest and if something happens, it would be tough to make your way out and/or for someone to come to your aid quickly.

From what you posted I believe you are going to be in town the week of the 9-15.  There are two on Tuesday evening (11/6/2013) up on the north side of town, then there is my lunch event Wednesday.

GC49R25 - Tuesday event

GC49Z1T - Tuesday Flash mob event

GC4CP8V - Wednesday lunch event

If I have the dates wrong, let me know and I can tell you what else is there.

Almost :) I'll arrive on the 15th and leave the following Saturday (phew.. what a long flight for such a short stay :blackeye: )

Looks like you are out of luck.  Nothing has been posted for that time as of yet.  Might I suggest you post one.  You still have time if you hurry.

Yes, looks like it. I possibly could post an event, however, not being familiar with the surroundings I would probably chose the little park next to my hotel and suggest to bring mosquito nets.

northern girl, I guess you're about to get on a plane and head this way?  It was 97°F today (36°C) with high humidity.  We had 9 people go to first-aid at work today due to getting overheated, so be safe out there!

After working in the heat all day in Nomex, I walked a mile in the open sun looking for three geocaches "some tall guy" hid and even tried to *brute force the final two unsuccessfully. I was still in Nomex and was soaked to my socks when I got back to the Jeep with 3 smilies. GLB83JC9 * Was spotted by Nebulous703 it appears.

Sorry guys, I didn't manage to create an event. GC.com just doesn't work with an internet connection of 5kb/s (think something like a construction site in the middle of nowhere here) :tickedoff:

Anyway, the weather: it's quite nice actually! and not as humid as I thought it would be. Went for a nice little hike in George Bush Park on Saturday early morning. Took lots of water with me, food, sun protection, other stuff. Saw a few animals, picked up some 13 caches.

I guess that's all caching activity for the rest of the stay. Was difficult enough to get a taxi that brought me back to my hotel. But I got Texas coloured in on my geocaching stats :)
