Bert, it looks like he wants u to throw him a mouse. I hate it when vipers start begging for food on the walkways.

And the next thing you know they're buliding little shelters around cache sites....there goes the neighborhood....

I was on an FTF run down in Palacios today, and I came across this little cache guardian. He was cute....so cute they even put out a sign just for him. :)

Definitely! I've heard that they are not normally dangerous but very unpredictable. Best to be cautious!

Does not appear to be a cottonmouth.  A cottonmouth will have a horizontal black stripe behind the eye, running from the eye to the neck.

For a cottonmouth example, go back to the March 1, 2014 post by Baytown Bert, in this thread.

Man, there's all manner of stuff going on in this photo Bert! Some nice Apple Snail eggs, which is a shame as I think they are considered quite invasive, brought in from the aquarium world. Couldn't help noticing some other stuff on the rock too.Heck, there's probably a message from the Beatles in there somewhere dating back to the 1969! ;)

A pair of armadillos burst out of the vegatation on the equestrian trail today at Brazos Bend about 2pm.
