There is another one in Armand Bayou Nature Center that can also be done by Kayak, just a ways past the park. Drowned Stream by The Hazelnuts.

According to the FB page, no sourvenir is planned for this year:

EarthCaching No souvenir in 2012. But that's a neat idea for 2013. And there are plenty of EarthCaches in France!;) For info on how to do an EarthCache, go here: www.earthcache.org

Damn, you are right..there is no souvenir planned. So it is just the promotion of science and geology and the likes. Well that totally bums me out. I just hope they do not change their mind and decide they will give a souvenir anyway at a later date, they have done that before. Souvenirs are so hard to come by too....

Well I had planned to do Log Dawgs Oxbow earthcache today when coming back from Huntsville Cubscout Campout. Well the campout got cut short when at 8pm last night there was a big red spot on the radar heading towards our area (2hrs out at the time.) And we all packed up in the dark and headed home.

Well today I couldn't get out of the house until about 2pm and there was ran coming down over that area and getting worse. I looked some more and I saw Muddy Buddies "Buffalo and Barker Watershed" earthcache, which I remember wanting to do about a year ago, but it was all blocked off. The heavy rain looked like it was moving past that part and it didn't seem to need to go off through the wet woods/trails to do. It was a fun earth cache, plus it gave me a chance to look for one stage of a multi that I started over a year ago (slogged through some mud for a bit and decided I should come back another day and look for it as I didn't feel like kneeling in the mud and all that.)

Well while I was there I met Phatsoandslim. After talking a bit with them, I found out that Slim is 2Katz' sister. I can see the family resemblance. Very nice people.

I took Houston Control's advice and did the Long Point Fault Earthcache today. It was an easy one that you didn't have to get out of your car to claim. I got the Armand Bayou Earthcache but that was yesterday at the kayak event.
