N CLAPS is open and open in a big way.  Highly recommend you come paddle this beautiful section before the evil water hyacinth takes over again.  1 - 18 (all but Big Island Slough) have been maintained and are in great shape, most with new logs, etc.

Someone needs to toss a couple of manatees in there.......

That would be very, very cool.  And God knows, they'd have enough to eat.  But for them hyacinth is probably like lima beans and only 1 out of 1000 likes it.

But can you imagine paddling with manatees?  That would rock.

Hey, lima beans are great!

For those of us who were busy shuttling a five-year-old to a rescheduled soccer game, I hope to paddle the same section this month before it all becomes overgrown again. Appreciate the maintenence!

Ok, so Catspa and scooterino are out paddling some of the CLAPS right now.  Got a call. In Horspen, there are big swatches of living, green hyacinth up in trees 8 - 15' high from the floods.  Many branches low are broken from current and other debris pushing on them. Some whole trees down.  I'm sure North and Horspen need a revamp from all that rain.  They said the lake fared much better, which makes sense.

Sorry they had a bunch of DNFs but all was well before the floods.  Sounds like a maintenance run soon.

If you want company on the maintenance run, let me know. I haven't paddled Horsepen at all.

Thank goodness, that's The Bicycler's.  ;)   Ping him.  He's always up for company on a run.  And never a DNF with the CO.  :)
