I just read that there is a new Whereigo iPhone app.
It is called WherPiGo and is free by Pi-Soft Consulting.

Great find and thanks for posting!

The most frustrating thing about that boondoggle by GC is that it was so platform limited...maybe this will help break it open some more...

Yep. It's called WhereYouGo. You can search the Market for it.

The only problem is the lack of handy Wherigo caches....

I have loaded WhereYouGo and the cartridge for the one at Clear Lake Park.  Now to find time to get back to that side of town.

Great, another platform I have to get my cartridge to run on...  :(

Seriously, though, it's about time.  I believe someone said they did my Wherigo cache with the Android app and it worked like a charm.  I'll have to try out the iPhone app next.  O0

Well shucks!  This requires iOS4 and that's not due out for iPads until November...so just a few more weeks for some of us....and we were going to start work on a cartridge....

Well I got an iPhone you can use to start working on the cartridge, but you will have to buy it and then be under the *wrath* of AT&T!!

It is good that you are planning a cartridge...I hope more get done, I think the *Whereigos* are fun....to play....not to program!!  :)

Wrath implies a bad thing......the bad thing is the data throttle AT&T has...until/unless they fix that, no iPhone here.....though Verizon just announced they're getting it.....maybe they'll use common sense for data plans....

Anyone have an update on the iPhone app and how well it works for finding a whereigo?

I've used my iPhone to find two WhereIgo caches. The first one was with the old app before GC bought it and rebranded it the WhereIgo app. I've used the latest one to find a different WhereIgo. I've noticed a couple of new ones in San Antonio near the Alamo in downtown.

I forgot to say they worked fine both times. In using it though you wish certain things worked better. Not having programmed one, I don't know if it is the app or the cartridge programming.

I could have used the application this weekend. I wish more whereigo games would be created. It is a great idea, too bad it is too hard to program.

Here's part of the problem:

Wherigo Builder for Windows
Version: 2.0.5129.5086
Last Update: 5/29/2008

Maybe I'll mention this in my customer survey they'll be doing soon.

There's a 3rd party builder called URWIGO that's supposedly better than GC.com's version. http://www.urwigo.com
