TW, I think you might just qualify for THIS challenge cache!

That's awesome!  We just need to add some commas to the counts to really get TW's attention :

1. Find and log 3,000 caches that have had a gap of at least 2 months between finds

    2. Find and log 2,000 caches that have had a gap of at least 4 months between finds

    3. Find and log 1,000 cache that have had a gap of at least 6 months between finds

Heck quite a few of us qualify for that one.  I will be in SA this weekend and may just go sign this one.

Larry, thanks for pointing that one out to me. Didn't know it existed.

Greg, that's hilarious. Truth be told, I thought the challenge was very light on the "challenge" part, so I think you're on the right track. Maybe knock of a zero on each one, though. :)

And I'm definitely liking that idea. We could use something like that around here. Log Dawgs is in San Antonio and signed the one you sent the link for over there.

I'm off through 1/5/14, so I'm hoping to tackle a few more of them before then. It's taking me 35 mins minimum to get to any of them now, but it's a fun pursuit. I needed some new caching goals, so this has worked out good for me, too.

I can't let TW have all the fun.

I found The Islands of Gleannloch Farms Part 1 of 3 GC2QWFE - was last found on 10/2/11 by goober2011.

I also found with Bubberdad FTFC 76 What A Duck which would have been on the list shortly since it was last found 22 months ago.

Oh and I did sign the log for that challenge.  I thought it was a bit simple.  Heck I think in the first month I started caching I qualified for that one.

In the last couple of weeks, I've found 31 that were on the list, and there were about a half dozen that I couldn't find and DNF'ed. I've got about a dozen more that I'm hoping to search for before I return to work on January 6th.

CornDoll and I went out and knocked these four off the list today (after grabbing an FTF.... she MADE me go after it).

GCQWYM           Kylee Ann!

GC1WC1K           Back at you Donde Esta

GC2KG8T             A Shot in the Dark

GC2P0HD            DUcK SOUp

We tried for two others in the Sugar Land area (GC2H862 and GC2N1NX), but DNF.

I did five of Kingwoodgeo's Isosceles caches. His caches are lots of fun and creative too.

Off of the longest to find list:

  • Isosceles 2: Hedwig's Roost GC10CKF - was last found on 7/23/11 by MiataCacheHunter with one DNF since.
  • Isosceles #4: Slytherin Snape's Dilemma GC10RH3 - was last found on 8/10/11 by Team Troglodyte.

Nice job,  I liked those as well as I did them over 2 years ago.

I can't wait for HC's list to see the new numbers.

With all the caches being taken off the list in the past month I would think it will be much smaller...

This of course begs the question as to why the list isn't out yet. :stirpot:

Larry's probably sitting in one of those big Exxon conference rooms dictating company policy right now.

Yes I did #1 through #5 as once you do one of the calculations it is easy to do the rest of them at the same time. The hardest one to get to is #1.

I had some correspondence with the CO on this one and he replaced it today (along with three others not on the LSLF list). Log Dawgs will likely go after this one today.

Actually, sitting in a windowless control room doing instrumentation loop checks with no access to my computer would be a more accurate description.  I'll work on the report this evening...

I like to give folks a day or so to log their finds anyway.
