MTP1K: Bonus GCRM1P - last found on 12/22/05 by MedTexPlacer.

We are trying to adopt this cache from CE.
It may not ever be found again, in it's present form.  It requires that you visit 4 MTP1K caches and get codes from them.  1 of the 4 has been archived.  Another one is currently disabled.

If the adoption goes through, we will change the page so that the previous caches are no longer required.  It will then be a "simple" multi-cache.

Power to the People GCM1VT - last found on 10/8/05 by Tx_Secsy & Jeff.

This one has been on my radar for a while.  Guess I better go get this one so you can take it off your list.

and here is one you missed (also on my radar) MAP SKILLS 101, Freshman Year GCRHJ0

Everytime I get ready to visit it rains...and that presents a major dilemma.

I've been watching this thread and the one about the four cache loop.  I have the week-end of February 10 off and plan on doing plenty of intense caching.  I usualy cache alone but can be sociable if required.  One caveat for me might to mention that high intensity doesn't mean 150 caches.  Au contrair.
Somewhere over the week-end I plan on hiking 10-20 miles, getting wet, climb a cliff, grab a few Terracaches and any geocaches that get in my way.  Just see what kind of adventure we can muster up.
If there is a group hitting the Row V Wade/Banjo Music cache, I'd like in on it.  I'm a ways away so I'm not familiar with the river in question but am capable of either method of attack.
The 4 cache loop would be a good alternative.  I would even consider doing them both on consecutive days.
I live north of Waco but travel and/or camping would not be a problem.

There is a short (possibly wet) way, and a much longer, dry way.

I know but the "dry" way NOW has a locked gate and a NO TRESPASSING SIGN...although with my ninja skills honed on many a ParkerPlus cache, I am sure that I could navigate such obstacles.  ;D ;D

Probably wait for the water to subside and go the WET route.

I didn't really miss it.  I just listed caches that had gone unfound since Jan 1, 2006 and MAP SKILLS had been found on 1/8/06.  Had I continued to list caches past the 7 I listed, it would have been 13th or so. O0

Thanks Larry for your list of longest unfound caches currently in place.  I was working on such a list when yours was posted.

I ran a survey of unfound caches starting in April 2006 (some 9 months ago) and going back from there and found some 48 caches that hasn't been found.

Some notes were noted:

There were 21 puzzles, 16 multi leg caches and 10 traditional caches that has not be found in 9 months and longer.  One letterbox cache also has not been found in 9 months.

The ones placed by PIMAN314 may be the hardest to find.  He has 5 puzzle caches that are some the longest unfound caches plus a multi-stage cache and a traditional type.
DREAMCACHERS has 2 puzzles and 3 multi-stage out there over 9 months without a find.
GEOWYZ has 4 caches still out there without a find in 9 months
TROGLODYTE,  BOSUN,  and  the late  CHANCE ENCOUNTER  has three caches with no finds in 9 months or longer

Most of the caches were in the 3/2.5 range with the average being a 2.5 difficulty and a 2.3 terrain.  There were some 1/1.5 or 1.5/1 and some 1.5/1.5 caches.  There were a 4/3 cache,  a 5/2 cache,  a 4/4,  a 2/5,  and a 4/3 cache waiting to be found.

Go after them

Agreed.  I blame Piman for our poor "found caches/time geocaching" ratio since all of his caches require about 10 times the work of a traditional cache. O0

Just kidding.  Piman's caches are great!

Well, I can remove another cache from the list.  I found Thorolfur's Treasure today, 21-1/2 months since it was last found!  I'm sure WTT-B2 will probably now go find it in a day or so. :D

If you have a day to spare, I highly recommend doing this cache!

Well, it wasn't on the list, but I managed to finally grab Piman's Naughts and Crosses today.  It was last found by MAES in March of last year, so it had been ~ 11 months.
This one was also in my 10 mile circle of death radius, so it was nice to get it done.

Saw a family of feral pigs, which was interesting and a couple of stray pit bulls, which was just scary.  It was tough sledding for the last .20mi to the cache.  Impossible to avoid the mud, so I just went for it.  Good fun!!

Was it a brown pit bull and a white pit bull?  I was in the same park today trying for a couple of terracaches and saw the same dogs!  I reported them to a park worker and later saw some men trying to round them up, but they said the dogs just ran off.  As I was leaving the park, I saw them again, trotting along the fence next to the gun range.

That Naughts and Crosses is a good one -- I like the container.

I found a Terracache today that hadn't been found since Nov 2005.
